Today, I prepare for the change in season with the ULTA Collection…

I was so so so excited to have found out that I won the Birthday Beauty Giveaway hosted by Michelle over at Beautiful Goodies. September is my birthday month, so I’m considering this as my early birthday present. Haha 🙂 Michelle’s birthday was towards the end of August (Happy belated birthday!), I believe, and it was such a sweet thing for her to host a giveaway! If you haven’t checked out her blog, you should check it out! Prior to stumbling upon the world of beauty subscription boxes, she considered herself a “Plain Jane.” Things are different now, of course 🙂 The package came in a timely manner and I was so happy to receive make-up from ULTA to play with. I’m not much of a makeup gal, but this opportunity will give me a chance to change things up a bit… just in time for a change in season! My favorite season is FALL/AUTUMN! 🙂 I love being able to wear layers, scarves, stockings, tights, leg warmers (okay that’s closer to winter), boots … etc. The change in color of the leaves , apple cider, pumpkin-flavored things… sigh… so amazing. Anyways, let me show ya what I received.

I had no idea that ULTA has their own collection!  All the products were full-sized and products that I will use.

Salon Nail Polish in Grin and Berry It – I love this shade. In the light in looks like a pretty magenta… but it can look pink or purple depending on the lighting and whatnot. Love it for fall!

Smokey Eyes Eyeliner in Smoke – always need eyeliner 🙂 Excited! 🙂

Mineral Blush in Sweet Pea – I’ve been looking for a blush! It’s small enough to stick in a clutch or small wallet for on-the-go touch-ups!

Eye Shadow in Plum Smoke

Eye Shadow in Lustre

Nourishing Mineral Lip Gloss in Rose Garnet –

Loving the new nail polish and lip gloss! Already using both today!

I cannot wait to try out the eyeliner, eye shadows, and blush! Have you heard of or tried the ULTA Collection? They seem to be well priced… and you can get a BUY 2 GET 1 free deal right now. 🙂 I might have to check out some of their other products!!

Today, I finally get to rest with my August blush Mystery Beauty Box (2013)…

Wow… What a full week it has been! I had a good friend in town. In addition, a couple of awesome friends just recently moved here, so I’ve been partaking in some sort of social activity every day from Wednesday to today. Wooo, I’m worn out! Some highlights, a lot of FOOD (sushi sushi, POPEYES, Shake Shack, sushi!, gelato, …. JUMBO PIZZA SLICE)… and just fun activities.

I received my blush Mystery Beauty Box yesterday and am happy to rest it with now.

Blush Mystery Box
The Box: Full, deluxe and travel size products worth at least $100 + a free gift
Cost: $24.95 (monthly subscription)/ $34.95 (one time subscription)
See my previous reviews HERE

***Coupon: If you’d like to try blush out but are not willing to subscribe, send an email to todaycommai@gmail.com and I’ll send you a referral link for a $10.00 off a one-time subscription (or it’s really off any $30 product at DermStore, blush or HairEnvy)

Weeee. A quick look at this month’s bag

photo 3

Looks like the theme this time was gardenia! Which is my favorite scent!!!!!

Philip B. Maui Wowie Beach Mist (5.07 oz)  $22.00 value
Full size!! Do these beach sprays actually work? I’ll give it a try… Blush had a Philip B product (hairspray) in the last box. I hope they’ll change it up a little more next time

MOR Emporium Hand Cream – Snow Gardenia (3.3 oz) $20.00
This is from the black collection… the packaging itself makes it look like a luxurious hand cream. I love the smell of gardenia and I’ve been looking for a hand cream, so I’m so happy to have received this! What’s in it? Shea, Cocoa Butter, Glycerin, Sesame Seed Oil, Allantoin, Irish Moss, Vitamins A&E all to hydrate and moisturize the skin! 😀 It’s also free of parabens, mineral oil and synthetic dyes, if that’s something you’re interesting in. It’s such a light scent that feels so wonderful… I can’t stop using it!

photo 4

PIXI Beauty Endless Silky Eye Pen – No. 5 Deep Plum (0.04 oz) $15.00
I’ve seen great reviews about this Eye Pen, so I’m excited! (see picture below for close-up of pen tip) It’s waterproof and glides on easily! Also, I’ve never ventured past using black liner, so I’m excited to try it out in Deep Plum. I took a look and some of the other colors they have seem fun, too!  My only question is, how do you sharpen such a pencil?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat (0.11 oz) $12.15
This is a deluxe sample… you use it on top of your mascara to add shine and make your mascara waterproof. I don’t use mascara so I’ll be putting this in a future giveaway (STAY TUNED~!!!!!!)…. I checked out reviews on Sephora and seems like most people really love this product … so good thing is that it works!

photo 2

Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant (0.5 oz) $5.71
**Shoutout to dearest Charkie! This is apparently a Hungarian skincare product 🙂 I was also so excited to receive this daily use rice-based exfoliant (see picture below for texture). It’s in a loose-powder form … and you can just use a little with some water on your face. It’s lovely!

Coola SPF 30 Face Classic Sunscreen – Cucumber (0.23 oz) $4.32
I received this product in my May birchbox (see review here) – so it’s nice to have another one 🙂

Vapour Organic Beauty Elixir Lip Gloss – Hush (0.36 oz) $20.00
Another organic lip gloss from blush beauty! It’s a nude-pink tinted gloss… looks nice. I’ll probably be gifting this one, however, since I have too much lip gloss at the moment.

Carita Paris Masque Biologique – Biological Face Mask (0.5 oz) $26.47
Oh my gosh. This is one expensive product… the full size mask (1.7 oz) is $90.00! I love masks… and this one seems to be help brighten, enhance and renew tired, dull and aging skin. Unfortunately, I would never purchase this product at full price… but that is the reason why I love subscription boxes! I love trying different products… that I could never really afford at their original price!

**Free sample – I am not sure why I got two… but it’s a good thing. I already got the Dremu Airbrush Eye Refining Treatment (.10 oz/ $9.06) sample in a previous box (SEE HERE) , so I’m glad to have also gotten a Alchimie Forever Rejuvenating Eye Balm (0.068 oz/$9.38). 🙂

Wow! I love Blush beauty box! I wasn’t so happy with my last one… but this one made up for last months! I will continue to stick with blush … it’s actually one of the few subscriptions I’ve kept! This month, I received $125.65 worth of products (with the samples includes, the value comes to $144.09!!)… I’d say that’s a pretty great value for the $24.95 that I paid.  Did you get this month’s box? Did you like it? What was your favorite product? Would love to hear your alls thoughts! 🙂

Have a great Sunday and I hope you have a good week!

I love that they’ve been adding this bonus products pouches! 🙂

New Beauty. Question: Which one do you prefer (if you’ve tried both) – QVC or NewBeauty Test Tube? I’ve only gotten one QVC tube so it’s difficult for me to say… but I’d love to hear what you have to say. For those of you all not familiar with these tubes. Each one costs ~36 dollars (after shipping and such)… The QVC one is a quarterly box (they reveal all the products.. and you can buy just that individual tube). The NewBeauty one is now a bi-monthly (as in every other month… is that the term for that?) subscription. So basically if you’re subscribed, you pay more for NewBeauty but you also get more products in a year. From my New Beauty magazine, … the next QVC tube will be available for purchase August 9th! 🙂

Side note: If you’re interested in getting a box … I have a referral link for $5 off your first box… email todaycommai@gmail.com and I’ll send that over to you.

The box at a glance.

The box at a glance. I spy a Moroccan Oil product. Teehee.

Philosophy purity made simple one-step facial cleanser (1 oz/ ~$3.33)
This is a 3-in-1 cleanser for the face and eyes … making this is a perfect travel product. Who has time to remove makeup, cleanse and tone?! 😛 I tried it and I like it… the scent isn’t strong… and it does a good job of removing makeup (well, at least my eye-makeup… )

MoroccanOil Body Butter (1.7 oz/ $13.81)
This product uses antioxidant argan oil, and argan, shea, cocoa and mango butters to soothe your skin. Another product with a light scent. Good news 🙂

Perlage Illuminating Primer (0.017 oz/ ??)
I don’t really know much about this… are you familiar? I also don’t use primers.

photo 4 (2)

Pantene Expert Collection Pro-V AgeDefy Shampoo (3.9 oz / $3.47)
Not much to say here, except, woah…STRONG SCENT! I don’t know if I like that. My entire box/test tube smelled like this shampoo/conditioner set. And I couldn’t get the scent out of my nostrils for the longest of time. This will come into use when I’m traveling, for sure!

Pantene Expert Collection Pro-V AgeDefy Conditioner (2.5 oz/ $2.67)

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in Lite (2 oz/ $10.00)
A leave in conditioner that you use after you’ve shampooed/conditioned and towel dried your hair. I always need conditioners, so this is great. I hope it works! I’ll let y’alls know.

photo 1 (1)

tarte Pure Maracuja Oil Rollerball (0.60 oz/ $17.00)
I’m probably most excited about this item! I’ll be honest. I have no clue at all what Maracuja Oil is. A quick google/wiki search will do 🙂 According to tarte, it contains Vit C and essential fatty acids. This sample came in a roller-ball form which is great! It is in a glass bottle, so if you keep this in your purse, you want to be careful not to accidentally break it and have oil soaked your hangbags. However, I love the rollerball, it makes it easy to apply to my face, especially under my eyes. I’m excited to see it’s effects. And I’m happy there’s not really a strong scent (actually I didn’t smell anything).

ybf Automatic Brow Pencil ($12.oo)
For those of you interested, this is a paraben-free/cruelty-free product. I read their description (link above) of the product and found it amusing and cute. Hehe. Take control of them eyebrows! I don’t really do anything with my brows. Sorry for my bushy eyebrows 😛 But I did give it a try, though I really don’t know how brow pencils work. Maybe you can give me some tips

photophoto 2 (3)

ORLY Nail Polish (0.6 oz/$8.50) –
I don’t use nail polish that often, so I don’t really care for this. Twas funny… because they mentioned how the excitement of this being the first nail polish in a test tube! No excitement for me… but no worries! It’ll be a good gift 🙂

Lumene Vitamin C+ Pure Radiance Night Cream (0.5 oz/ ~$5.87) – pictured below
A decent sample size night cream. I received the day cream in another NewBeauty box, I believe.

photo 4 (1)

NEW BEAUTY magazine – $9.95

BONUS PRODUCTS

photo 2 (1)

Boost-it! Instant Complexion Enhancer (0.25 oz/ ~$10.90)
Supposedly tightens and brightens the skin within seconds! I don’t really need the tightening but I guess I could try it for the brightening!

Dalton Colour Creme Lip Gloss  in Shawny K. (.21 oz/ ~$15.00)
I like the application of this gloss. I noticed on the website that it should come with a brush… maybe I missed it in my box. Or it just didn’t come with it. I’ll have to do some more digging. I’m not sure how I feel about this yet. It’s very shiny. You probably have to reapply every 2 hours or so. I do like the fact that it comes in a jar… this means none of it goes to waste.  As you can tell, with the color I received, the color is very light… not much… more gloss than color. It definitely felt like my lips got plumper.

photo 3 (1) photo 3 (3)

NIP + FAB No Needle Fix Serum (2 .03 oz foil packets, ~$0.70)
A serum to fill in fine lines and smooth wrinkles … hehe don’t got those yet… but soon enough. They shall arrive. When I stay up late stu-DYING. 😛 And this will come handy.

************************************************************

Okay, pretty sweet box! I feel like I’ll use almost everything… except for maybe the nail polish. It’s not my most favorite box, but I am still a happy gal. 🙂 I received over $100 worth of products… for only $36 … which is not bad… actually pretty sweet. 🙂 Did you receive this box? What did you think and what did you get for your Bonus Products? Enjoy the day… and stay tuned for our giveaway! 🙂
