Today, I am soaking in [imaginary] hot springs! (Perlier Volcanic Thermo Scrub Review)

I was SO EXCITED to have been sent the Perlier Volcanic Thermo Scrub complimentary of iFabbo. 🙂 #PerlierOnHSN

I’ve actually been searching for a good body scrub. However, as I’ve spent too much money on random beauty products (those shopping trips will be documented in upcoming blog posts so stay tuned 🙂 teehee) and subscription boxes, I had been holding off on buying one. After all, a good soap bar should be sufficient, right? Have you tried this product before? Is there a scrub that you love? Please share below! 🙂

Perlier Volcanic Thermal Spa Thermo Renewing Scrub
$25.00 + S&H ($6.21)
6.7 fl oz
What is it?
A thermal scrub with micronutrients extracted from volcanic rocks. According to the product descriptions and HSN, it contains hot water from the hot spring concession located in the municipality of Abana Terme, helps to create a more youthful appearance for your skin (dull-looking skin, GOOD BYE!), is rich in mineral salts, contains minerals of different sizes for both rejuvenating and smoothing actions.

Am I spoiled? Apparenty, yes.

So how did it go? As lovely as I imagined! I was a bit disappointed when I received my previous iFabbo product (mostly because I don’t have wrinkles, so I couldn’t really provide an objective review). However, this product made up for the previous disappointment. To start with, the packaging is a plastic jar. I guess if you drop the product, you won’t have glass breaking. Upon opening, a light aqua scent flows through your nostrils, a very nice spa-like smell, for sure!

That is such a pretty color, reminds me of a lovely beach

The texture of the product is not too watery and not too dense.. just the right amount. When I tried to smooth it/massage it onto my skin with just my bare hands, it was a little difficult. I feel like this is a product that does not fit the description of “a little goes a long way.” However, I later tried using my scrubbing mitt (I purchased mine at T.J. Maxx), and it made it significantly easier to use this scrub. The scent is so lovely and the best part is that it’s a very light scent. Just enough to make you feel relaxed (like you’re chilling at a luxurious spa), but not enough to overpower you and make you feel uncomfortable. 🙂 I felt squeaky clean afterwards and my skin has felt a little softer after a couple of uses. I’m excited to continue to use this product. I will be sad when I am done with it, but luckily, it’s not too expensive.

What it looks like smoothed on the skin. There are little beads (of apparently mineral salts) that you massage into the skin. Lovely scrub!

I’m content and satisfied.

Today, I wish I could go to San Francisco (iFabbo Social Media Conference)…

Just wanted to let y’alls know that the iFabbo (International Organization for Fashion, Beauty & Style Bloggers) 2nd Annual Social Media Conference for Bloggers and Brands is taking place on October 13, 2013 in San Francisco. You can check our their conference page here. Unfortunately, I will not be able to travel across the country to attend this conference, but it seems exciting, addressing topics such as monetizing your blog, expanding your network and looking at the future of beauty and fashion on the interwebs. 😛 The panelists (including founders of quite successful blogs, leaders in organizations that websites earn from the content they create, PR & Market Professions, and more) that will be discussing such topics seem great! I really wish I could be there in person.

If you’re a beauty or fashion blogger, you should definitely check out iFabbo. If you’re already part of this awesome network, will you be attending the conference? If so, feel free to comment below! I’d love to hear how it goes/see pictures! 🙂

Anyways, more posts celebrating our blog’s anniversary to come! I’ll be back soon!

Today, I am wondering about Hydroxatone …

Whew! What a busy day! I was scrambling to catch a glimpse of the royal baby. I decided to take a break & found a live link … caught about 10 seconds of that. A sweet moment indeed. Just a busy day at work. I was happy to have received the Hydroxatone AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex from iFabbo’s SHOP a while ago and have been testing it out for a while now.

How do I feel about this AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex? Well, my face (luckily!) has not had the time to develop deep wrinkles or lines yet. So honestly, I would not be able to tell you whether or not this product works for that. However, I do feel that it provides moisturizing properties.

Packaging: Cute little blue jar (see image). Haha, okay this isn’t that important.

Pros: Very moisturizing… cream is thick but doesn’t feel too thick after a while. It’s difficult to fall asleep with heavy perfumes! Broad Spectrum SPF 15 gives you coverage for use during the day!

Cons: While it’s not too thick after a while, the cream itself takes a while to absorb. I was surprised that a few times, my face stung after I applied it. I guess this is not for you if you have sensitive skin. The cream is a little too thick for me to want to use it during the day so I think I’ll stick to its PM usage. While scent is light, it’s not a pleasant smell.

Hydration: 4/5
Texture: 2.5/5
Noticeable Results: NA
Smell: 3/5

Overall: 3.1/5

Purchase? Probably not

When it comes to face products, especially with moisturiziers, I’m very picky. I tend to stick to brands/products that I like. With most other products, such as shampoo/conditioner/body soap, I really don’t mind which product I use… as long as it sort of works. The only way for me to decide to change face products is if the product I’m testing is better than my current one. What about you? Do you like to experiment a lot? Do you have a favorite moisturizer?

Have you used this product before? Did you have a better experience?
